Liverpool FC fans face Europa League ticket delay after technical issues

Liverpool fans looking to secure a ticket for the Europa League final will have to wait a little longer after the club’s online ticket portal failed.

Reds fans were set to find out the results of an online ticket ballot at 1pm today, however the page could not be viewed on Liverpool’s official website due to a technical problem.

Anxious fans were unable to see if they had been successful, as the ticket page simply had the message that the web page was unable to be displayed.

The club did respond swiftly by issuing a Tweet saying that they were working to resolve the issue, and later updated that to say they would be contacting all 17,000 ballot entrants by email.

Liverpool only received 10,236 officials tickets for the game at St. Jakob Park, leading to criticism of UEFA by a number of fan groups, and the club has urged those fans without tickets not to travel.
