Liverpool are reportedly considering a move for Geronimo Rulli as doubts continue to persist over Simon Mignolet.
Rulli has spent the last two seasons on loan at Real Sociedad, from Uruguayan side Deportivo Maldonada, impressing for the Spanish side and securing the No.1 jersey at the Anoeta.
The 23-year-old is set to be part of Argentina’s squad for the Rio Olympic Games, and head coach Gerardo Martino has tipped him to be the country’s long-term international goalkeeper.
Rulli’s contract with Maldonada expires next month, however the Uruguayan club have an option to extend it and then sell him on for a fee, an option they are likely to use.
A move for Rulli is likely to cast further uncertainty over the future of Belgian international Mignolet at Anfield, who despite signing a new five year contract in January, still fails to prove his doubters wrong.
