Liverpool revealed their new 2016-17 home kit at a special live event in front of the Liver Building last night.
Next season’s strip was designed with Reds fans in mind and features the quote ‘There’s no noise like the Anfield noise’ on the inner hem of the shirt as well as a tribute to the 96 fans killed in the Hillsborough disaster on the collar.
The kit itself, made by American sportwear firm New Balance, is largely an all-red affair in-keeping with tradition, however the club’s badge and sponsor are set in yellow.
Supporters who attended the event on the iconic Liverpool waterfront were treated to live music from former Zutons frontman Dave McCable and appearances from Reds stars, including Jordan Henderson, Philippe Coutinho, Simon Mignolet and Jon Flanagan wearing the new strip.
Speaking at the launch, Liverpool captain Henderson said: “I think it’s nice. There’s a few different things.
“The side vents are meant to help us cool down – but that’s not working right now.”
Jurgen Klopp added: “This team has the winning mentality and now, with this spectacular new home kit every player will look the part lighting up Anfield.”
