Liverpool in hunt for Euro Under-21 star

Liverpool are among a host of elite clubs pursuing Dinamo Zagreb’s Dani Olmo.

Olmo became the break-out star at this summer’s European under-21 Championships and was named the man-of-the-match in Spain’s final victory.

The versatile attacker is currently attracting interest from several of the continent’s leading clubs with the Reds also said to be in the hunt for him.

Croatian newspaper Sportske Novosti claim that the new European champions have joined Premier League rivals Chelsea and Arsenal in the chasing pack.

Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan and Manchester United are other teams credited with actively pursuing the one-time Barcelona prodigy.

United are rumoured to have launched a £36 million bid for the 21-year-old as part of their efforts to rebuild under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this summer.

Olmo’s former club previously pursued him, as did Real Madrid, but both have since cooled their interest, allowing Liverpool and others to fight it out for his signature.
