Three Liverpool players have won the Premier League’s end-of-season awards.
Alisson Becker pipped Manchester City counterpart Ederson to the league’s Golden Glove accolade with a remarkable 22 clean sheets out of 38 games.
The Brazilian’s shut-out in Sunday’s 2-0 win over Wolves gave him the edge over his compatriot, who won the league with Pep Guardiola’s side on the final day.
Mohamed Salah retained the Golden Boot award for a second season running in a three-way tie with Sadio Mane and Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Reds teammates Salah and Mane plundered 22 goals apiece as Jurgen Klopp’s side finished Premier League runner-up with an unprecedented 97-point haul.
The Liverpool trio’s accolades were joined by Virgil van Dijk being crowned as the Premier League’s Player of the Season ahead of kick-off against Wolves.
“It always helps when a goalie makes a few saves. 21 clean sheets is quite impressive, well deserved,” said Klopp.
“Virg won an award, I didn’t know before but I saw him carrying a boot.
“Trent [Alexander-Arnold] smashed all stats for assists for full-backs and Robbo (Andy Robertson) was close and nearly scored today.
“We have two of the top goalscorers, right?
“Look, if I would start telling you all the positive things I can say about this team we would sit here until an hour before the Champions League final starts, that’s the truth.
“It’s not really the moment for that; we know it and we feel it, it’s disappointing.”
