Liverpool reveal Bob Paisley-inspired new kit

Liverpool have revealed their Bob Paisley-inspired new home kit for 2019/20.

New Balance’s new strip pays homage to Paisley’s success in the early 1980s to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the legendary Red manager’s birth.

Paisley’s signature is inscribed on the shirt’s neck while the strip bears a white pinstripe design reminiscent of the one worn in 1982/83, his final season in charge.

The First Division title returned to Anfield for a record 14th time at the end of that campaign as well as a third successive League Cup.

As with previous seasons’ kits, the 96 emblem and eternal flames will sit on the nape of the neck to commemorate the tragic events of Hillsborough.

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson, said: “This year’s home kit is incredibly strong. I’m really looking forward to wearing it every time we play at our beloved home of Anfield, as a symbol of the pride and passion you have when you’re a Red.

“It’s also a really fitting tribute to one of our greatest managers, Bob Paisley, and is a fantastic way to remember all his success.”

Liverpool’s home goalkeeper kit comes in black and featuring a striking gold detail, and has been developed in line with the outfield players’ jerseys

“I’m incredibly impressed by the style of this season’s goalkeeper jersey,” said Alisson Becker, who will take the No.1 shirt for next season.

“It will really stand out on the pitch and will look great alongside the home kit.”

The new kit will be available for pre-order in store and online from 9am on Thursday, April 18, for guaranteed worldwide delivery on the launch day, May 9, when it will also be available to purchase in-store and online.

Fans pre-ordering an adult shirt, junior shirt, mini kit or baby kit will also receive a £10 Liverpool FC retail voucher to spend in-store and online between June 1 and 30.
