Liverpool to draft in former Manchester Utd coach

Liverpool plan to appoint another goalkeeping coach to their first-team setup.

Jack Robinson is currently under consideration for the new role in Anfield’s senior ranks, which is being overseen by existing coach John Achterberg.

Robinson previously spent seven years with Manchester United and helped with the development of David de Gea and Edwin van der Saar in that time.

He was also part of England’s side which won the Under-17 World Cup last year in his role as the Football Association’s National Goalkeeping Coach.

Achterberg will continue to coach Alisson Becker and Simon Mignolet while Robison’s duty would work with youngsters Kamil Grabara and Caoimhin Kelleher.

Jurgen Klopp has continued to make a series of incremental changes to his backroom staff, with coach Pep Lijnders rejoining the club this summer.

Specialist throw-in coach Thomas Gronnemark is another addition to the Reds’ current regime after Klopp enlisted his services on a part-time basis.
