Six of Liverpool’s opening games moved for TV

Six of Liverpool’s opening Premier League games have been moved for TV coverage.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are due to kick off their new campaign with a home encounter with West Ham that was originally scheduled for August 11.

But Friday’s announcement of broadcast fixtures has seen the Anfield clash with the Hammers pushed back to a 1.30pm kick-off on the following day.

The Reds’ trip to Crystal Palace was also pushed back from its provisional date to an 8pm start on Monday, August 20 as part of Sky Sports’ coverage plans.

Brighton’s trip to Merseyside will still take place on August 25 but has been moved to a 5.30pm KO at the request of BT Sport, who will screen the game.

Further changes have been made to Liverpool’s fixture schedule with their away match at Leicester City taking place at 12.30pm on September 1.

Their involvement in the first game to be played at Tottenham’s new stadium will also be a lunchtime start just a fortnight later, on September 15.

Liverpool will again be on TV when they take on Chelsea, with the Stamford Bridge showdown pushed back to a 5.30pm start on September 29.

It means that just one of the Champions League finalists’ opening seven league fixtures has not been altered for television coverage.

Southampton’s visit to Anfield is the only game which was unchanged from its original 3pm slot on Saturday, September 22.
