Sturridge responds to Klopp bust-up claims

Daniel Sturridge has dismissed claims of a fallout with Jurgen Klopp.

Sturridge spent the second half of this season on loan at West Brom in efforts to revive his career and stake a claim for England’s World Cup squad.

But claims emanating from a social media account alleged that the Liverpool striker was at loggerheads with Klopp over his current first-team absence.

According to the report, Sturridge also failed to receive an invitation to attend the Reds’ Champions League final against Real Madrid this weekend.

But the 28-year-old shot down the speculation on his Twitter account and confirmed that he had sent well wishes to the entire Liverpool team.

He said: “Spoke to the boss and (sporting director) Michael Edwards over the couple of days and wished them good luck for the final.

“Wished my team mates good luck after the semis and this week.”
