Jordan Henderson is confident that Mohamed Salah will stay at Liverpool in the long-term.
Salah heads into Tuesday’s Champions League semi-final with Roma on the back of being crowned this season’s PFA Player of the Year.
The Egypt international could also finish this term by overtaking Ian Rush’s record for the most goals scored by a Reds player in a single campaign.
His meteoric rise has not gone unnoticed with Real Madrid among several European heavyweights tipped to make a move for him this summer.
But the Liverpool captain believes that Salah is perfectly suited to his current surroundings as Jurgen Klopp looks to usher in a new era of success at Anfield.
“He’s a fantastic player, up there with the world’s best and there’ll obviously be other clubs that maybe want to take him away,” said Henderson.
“But I feel as though he’s in a great place with a great set of lads, a great team with a great manager, going in the right direction.
“We want to create our own history, win things here and I think that’ll be very special.
“I’m sure Mo will want to be part of that. He’s a very big part of it now and I’m sure he will be for many years to come.”
