Liverpool reveal new 2018/19 home kit

Liverpool have revealed their new home kit for the 2018/19 season.

The popular ‘red pepper’ colour behind the existing strip will be retained in the design Jurgen Klopp’s side will wear during the forthcoming campaign.

In line with the kit’s new slogan, ‘This Means More’, New Balance have incorporated details into the kit which evoke the spirit of Anfield.

Linear jacquard stripes on the front of the shirt’s design are inspired by the landmark architecture of the redeveloped Main Stand.

A collar has been reintroduced to the home shirt for a first time since the 2012/13 season, when former kit makers Warrior produced their inaugural kit.

As with recent Liverpool kits, the Hillsborough disaster is remembered with 96 emblem and two eternal flames sit at the nape of the shirt’s neck.

First-team captain Jordan Henderson was on hand for the first unveiling and admits that the slight changes had a positive impact on the overall kit.

“I think it’s a nice colour; plain and simple,” said Henderson.

“It feels good [to wear] which is the most important thing.

“I think the fans were happy with the colour [this season]. Overall it looks good.

“The collar for the fans is good so they can go to the game, it looks a bit smarter. I think it will go dead well.”

Trent Alexander-Arnold echoed his captain’s sentiments on the new outfit.
He said: “It’s always exciting to get the new kit and to try something new on and just a little bit different.

“It’s kept its simplicity and added the collar so it’s a nice little change from last year.

“It’s always a little bit different when you walk up to the changies and see a different kit hanging up.

“You’re excited to put it on and see how it feels.”

Liverpool have also introduced a new style of name and numbering designed to embody iconic characteristics of Anfield stadium and the surrounding area.

The new kit will be worn for the final home game of this season against Brighton and available for pre-order in store and online from 9am on Thursday, April 19 for guaranteed worldwide delivery on the May 11 launch day.

Up to 30 fans who order the new 2018/19 shirt in the pre-order period will be picked at random and will receive their kit for free.

Liverpool have also pledged to donate 125 shirts to local children from schools in Anfield involved in the Red Neighbours programme.

Anyone pre-ordering an adult shirt, junior shirt, mini kit or baby kit will also receive a £10 LFC retail voucher to spend in-store and online between May 11 and June 30, 2018.

Fans purchasing from LFC stores or the LFC website will receive a special certificate of authenticity with their purchase, as a thank you for their support.
