De Bruyne: Salah deserves to win PFA award

Kevin de Bruyne believes Mohamed Salah deserves to win the PFA’s Player of the Year award.

De Bruyne is vying with the Liverpool talisman as they lead a six-man Premier League shortlist after enjoying stellar seasons with their respective clubs.

The Belgium international has starred in Manchester City’s title-winning side while Salah remains on course for the Golden Boot with 30 league goals to date.

But De Bruyne concedes that the Reds forward would be a worthy winner for the accolade voted for by their fellow professionals.

“I think if you can choose nobody from our team, I think he deserves it,” he told NBC Sports.

“Probably he’s going to win it anyway. He’s been remarkable and to compete with someone that’s scored that many goals, you’re not going to win.

“I’m very satisfied with my performance this year, with the team.”
