Jurgen Klopp wants Liverpool to seal a top four place before their trip to Chelsea.
The Londoners kept their Champions League qualification hopes alive with a second-half fightback from two goals down against Southampton on Saturday.
Klopp’s side, meanwhile, are enjoying a 10-point margin over the fifth-placed reigning Premier League champions as they continue to sit third in the table.
Liverpool could book their place in Europe’s elite club competition with wins against West Brom and Stoke City before travelling to Stamford Bridge.
Just days before the May 6 encounter, the Anfield club will also learn their Champions League fate on the back of a semi-final showdown with Roma.
And Klopp is hopeful that Liverpool can wrap up qualification before their penultimate league fixture of the season.
He said: “That is my favourite solution and exactly what I want to do.
“Unfortunately it is not sure that that will happen but we will try. I was not too happy with Wednesday/Tuesday in the Champions League [against Manchester City].
“But now we have Tuesday/Wednesday which is better; home game on Tuesday then more or less a full week [before[ Sunday for Chelsea.
“It’s all good [in terms of] little breaks, not Wednesday/Saturday.”
