Emre Can slams ‘false’ Liverpool contract claims

Emre Can has refuted claims that he made extortionate wage demands to stay at Liverpool.

Reports suggested that the Germany international had requested a £200,000-per-week salary as part of talks over a new long-term deal with the Reds.

Can’s current contract at Anfield is set to expire at the end of the current campaign, leaving him free to negotiate a Bosman transfer elsewhere,

But the midfielder, 24, has denied the latest speculation surrounding his Liverpool future and insists that he will not comment on any further stories.

“Interesting stories about me in the press,” he wrote on Instagram.
