Explore Learning will be hosting a writing workshop for children aged 4-14 years at their Liverpool Centre from 6:30-8pm on Tuesday, 6th March.
In conjunction with the National Young Writers’ Awards, Nurse Louise will teach the children how to improve their writing skills and help them brainstorm ideas for stories to enter in the competition.
Since the theme of this year’s National Young Writers’ Awards is HEROES, Explore Learning is excited to bring in local hero Nurse Louise, of Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity, to give children a chance to meet her! As a Roald Dahl Nurse, Louise works every day to not only provide the best level of care possible for seriously ill children, but also to support their families too.
This is the first time since the running of the National Young Writers’ Awards that workshops are being held to encourage children to enter and also raise awareness about the competition.
Charlotte Gater, Head of Curriculum at Explore Learning says: “We are extremely proud to organise the longest running writing competition for children, and we are tremendously excited to offer local workshops this year in union with the competition. Over the past 10 years the National Young Writers’ Awards have encouraged children in their thousands to release their creativity in abundance. We can’t wait to read what children put together along this year’s theme of heroes – whether that’s a hero with superpowers or an everyday hero like a parent, a firefighter, paramedic or teacher.”
The National Young Writers’ Awards is set to return with a bang this year, as world renowned best-selling children’s author David Walliams has been named judge for 2018! The competition, organised by tuition provider Explore Learning, has been running for ten years and has inspired hundreds of thousands of children across the UK to put pen to paper and give writing a try.
The workshop will take place at the Liverpool Explore Learning Centre, conveniently located at The Pavilion, Smithdown Road, Liverpool L15 0EB.
