Real Madrid eye ambitious Liverpool swoop

Real Madrid are reportedly plotting an audacious move for Jurgen Klopp.

The current European champions have identified the Liverpool manager as Zinedine Zidane finds himself under mounting pressure this season.

His side sit fourth in La Liga, 20 points adrift of leaders Barcelona despite having two games in hand on their great rivals.

Zidane himself has fuelled speculation surrounding his future after recent comments about how tiring it is to manage a club of Los Blancos’ size.

According to Spanish newspaper AS, Klopp is one of three targets identified as a potential replacement for the double-winning French coach.

Tottenham counterpart Mauricio Pochettino and Germany head coach Joachim Low are the other two names in the frame for the Bernabeu hot seat.

However it is the 50-year-old’s man-management skills, credited with helping improve several players at Anfield, which have put him in contention for the role.

Klopp is currently in the second year of a bumper Liverpool contract, signed after his first half-season in charge, which is set to run until summer 2022.
