The River Explorer Cruise is one of Liverpool’s most iconic days out and a ‘must-do’ experience for families looking for a fun-filled day out this half term.
Once on-board, families will enjoy a lively commentary on the history of the UNESCO World Heritage waterfront, whilst also taking the time to enjoy the breath-taking views of some of Liverpool’s most recognisable landmarks.
The River Explorer Cruise, which takes just under an hour, also allows families to visit Spaceport’s much-loved ‘Sci-Fi Icons’ exhibition at Seacombe, which showcases a private collection of Stars Wars memorabilia from one of the UK’s biggest collectors.
From Monday 19 February through to Friday 23 February, guests at Spaceport will also get the chance to meet and greet well-loved Star Wars characters, alongside participating in the interactive ‘Jedi School’, which will see children saving a Jedi temple from the Sith Lords and taking part in lightsaber battles with enemies of the galaxy.
Gary Evans from Mersey Ferries said: “Spaceport is always a great way to spend a few hours as a family, and the Sci-Fi Icons exhibition really seems to have captured people’s imaginations. Our visitors can spend time browsing the collection, which stages classic scenes and adored characters from the franchise – such as the Landspeeder Desert Scene and Ewok Village.
“A visit to Spaceport can all be done as part of our Mersey Ferry River Explorer Cruise ticket, which also includes access to The U-Boat Story at Woodside. It really does provide a whole day of activity for families in the North West this half term.”
The U-Boat Story at Woodside includes original film archives and interactive displays which tell the story of the World War II German Submarine U-534.
A Family River Explorer and Spaceport Ticket is priced at only £35 and is available for two adults and up to three children (ages five to 15). The offer must be purchased online at least one day before a visit. Purchased on the day, adult tickets for the River Explorer Cruise are priced at £9 when booked online.
