Liverpool leading summer hunt for Pulisic

Liverpool are leading the chase for Borussia Dortmund winger Christian Pulisic.

The 19-year-old has enjoyed a meteoric rise since his first-team breakthrough with the Bundesliga side, producing a series of impressive performances this season.

As well as scoring four goals in 26 games in all competitions, Pulisic has also shone on the international stage, bagging six times in nine for the United States.

His form has not gone unnoticed by Europe’s elite clubs, who are now all keeping a close eye on his development ahead of the summer transfer window.

One of those clubs who remain keen are Liverpool, according to the Daily Mail.

They report that Jurgen Klopp remains a big fan of Pulisic, having promoted him to Dortmund’s senior ranks during a final season in charge at Signal Iduna Park.

The Reds failed in efforts to land Pulisic with an £11 million bid that was turned down in summer 2016 but are thought to be planning to renew their approach.

Philippe Coutinho’s move to Barcelona last month has left a void in the Anfield attacking line, which the highly-rated teenager is being tipped to fill.

However Liverpool will face stern competition from Manchester United and Bayern Munich, who are seeking long-term replacements to Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery.
