Jurgen Klopp insists Liverpool will not encounter a situation like Alexis Sanchez’s Arsenal exit.
Sanchez completed a move to Manchester United on Monday evening as part of a swap deal which will see Henrikh Mkhitaryan heading in the other direction.
The Chilean becomes the latest in a long line of stars that have left the Gunners for a Premier League rival over the course of the past decade.
Robin van Persie, Samir Nasri, Emmanuel Adebayor and Gael Clichy are all examples of star players leaving the Emirates Stadium when given the chance.
But Klopp does not envisage a similar scenario happening with anyone in his current squad at Anfield because they are all too committed to the cause.
He said: “No Liverpool player of this squad would leave – and not just because we say it but because of their commitment to the club.
“No-one would leave to join any other Premier League club during the season.
“I’m not just confident of that – I know it. It is just impossible.
“No player who is here will say, ‘OK, come on, in the middle of the season I go there or there.’
“I really cannot see that situation.”
