Serie A giants set to rival Inter for Sturridge

Napoli are reportedly set to rival Inter Milan for Daniel Sturridge’s signature.

Sturridge is keen to leave Liverpool during the current transfer window in order to get regular first-team football ahead of this summer’s World Cup.

The striker believes he needs to be playing regularly to ensure his place in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the finals in Russia.

A whole host of clubs have been linked with his signature since, including sides from Europe and now Il Mattino claim Napoli are also keen on his signature.

According to the newspaper, the club’s director of football Cristiano Giuntoli is considering a move for the 28-year-old.

But Napoli are not the only Serie A side to be interested in Sturridge.

Last week there were reports that Sturridge had offered himself on loan to Inter Milan, who would be willing to pay a loan fee to secure him until the end of the season.

However it is believed Liverpool would prefer a permanent sale for around £30 million.
