Liverpool will reinvest full Coutinho fee, says Klopp

Jurgen Klopp insists Liverpool will reinvest all of the money of Philippe Coutinho’s sale.

Coutinho completed a £142 million move to Barcelona earlier this week, bringing an end to the year-long saga over his future.

However, it has been suggested by some that the funds have already been spent, specifically on bringing Virgil van Dijk in from Southampton in a £75m deal.

Klopp has refuted those claims, saying he will get all of the money to strengthen his squad although that may not happen solely in the January transfer window.

He said: “We will get all the money.

“Always since I’m here we can have all the monies from transfers and more if needed.

“So far we got all the players we wanted to have. Now one has left and it’s not too cool but it’s not a real problem at all.

“We will bring in other players. If we do it in this window, I don’t know.”

One man who may arrive is Naby Keita from RB Leipzig, with Liverpool keen to bring his move forward.

The Guinea international is set to move to Anfield in the summer after the two clubs agreed a deal last year.

However, Reds chiefs are now in talks with the German club to bring that forward, although it could end up costing them a premium to do so.
