Salah responds to Real Madrid claims

Mohamed Salah has dismissed claims he could leave Liverpool in the near future.

The Egyptian joined the Reds in a £36.9 million deal from Roma last summer and is proving an instant success with 23 goals in 29 games to date this season.

But Salah’s time at Anfield is already the subject of speculation, with Real Madrid credited with a long-standing interest in the one-time Chelsea winger.

Those rumours intensified last month when Los Blancos coach Zinedine Zidane revealed to FourFourTwo that the 25-year-old is a player he greatly admires.

However Salah himself has moved to quash any uncertainty about his future.

Writing in Arabic on Twitter, he is quoted as saying “Well, I have heard so many rumours that it doesn’t bother me anymore.

“They have treated me very well in Liverpool and at this moment, I belong to Liverpool and I am happy at Anfield.”

Salah is in line to return for Liverpool in Sunday’s clash with Manchester City.

“If nothing happens in this moment, Mo is back,” said Jurgen Klopp.

“He is training completely normally.”
