Ernesto Valverde has refused to be drawn on Barcelona’s links with Philippe Coutinho.
The Catalans are expected to revive their interest in the Liverpool playmaker, who was the subject of three failed offers last summer.
Coutinho is understood to remain keen on a move to the Nou Camp, with the La Liga leaders seemingly determined on securing his signature this month.
Speculation increased earlier this week when Nike, Coutinho and Barca’s sponsors, posted about the Brazil international joining the Spanish giants.
But Valverde remains non-committal on his side’s interest in the 25-year-old.
He said: “Sometimes I come in here and I learn about things that are happening; whether they’re true or not, I don’t know.
“Coutinho plays for another team and he is a great player for that team.
“If he plays for Barca in the future or not, I don’t know.
“I like the players I have in my team and if another one comes in the future, I’m sure he has to be a very good player, too.
“I’ve got nothing to say about Coutinho. We respect the fact he plays for another club.”
