Nike appear to have confirmed Philippe Coutinho’s move to Barcelona.
The Liverpool playmaker continues to be linked with a move to the Nou Camp and could be subject to a renewed pursuit in the January transfer window.
Barca saw a series of offers which reached £114 million rejected while Coutinho’s efforts to force through the switch with a transfer request failed.
But a message posted on the La Liga giants’ kit sponsors official website on Saturday night hinted that the Brazil international could be set to leave Anfield.
Written in various languages, including English and Spanish, the sportswear giant promoted a range of Barca kits with the words ”Where the magic happens’ – a reference to Coutinho’s nickname of the Little Magician.
Beneath the strapline they wrote: ‘Philippe Coutinho is ready to light up Camp Nou.
’Get your 2017-18 FC Barcelona kit with the Magician’s name on it. Act fast – free personalisation only available until January 6.’
The link emanated from Barcelona’s official website and was removed within an hour.
Coutinho refused to rule out his departure from Liverpool as early as January when questioned about his future earlier this month.
