Liverpool planning to join race for Mexico star

Liverpool could be joining the hunt for PSV Eindhoven forward Hirving Lozano.

The Reds have already been busy ahead of the January transfer window, securing the £75 million signing of Virgil van Dijk earlier this week.

But their spending may not be finished there, with the Daily Star claiming that Lozano could be in line for a move to Anfield in the near future.

The Mexican joined PSV from Pachuca in the summer and has managed 13 goals in 20 games in all competitions for the Eredivisie side to date.

That has attracted the interest of several Premier League teams in recent months, including Arsenal and Liverpool’s local rivals Everton.

According to the paper, Anfield officials have contacted PSV over the 22-year-old, who could be lined up as a potential replacement for Philippe Coutinho.

Jurgen Klopp is said to have concerns over the future of Coutinho as Barcelona continue to chase his signature following last summer’s failed pursuit.
