Klopp wants even more from Salah this season

Jurgen Klopp hopes Mohamed Salah will continue to excel for Liverpool into the second half of this season.

Salah took another starring role in the Reds’ 4-0 romp over Bournemouth on Sunday and scored his 20th goal of the campaign in all competitions.

Klopp withdrew the Egypt international after Roberto Firmino rounded off the visitors’ win at the Vitality Stadium in anticipation of Friday’s clash with Arsenal.

But the Liverpool manager is relishing what is to come beyond the busy Christmas period from the £36.9 million summer arrival from Roma.

He said: “I’m looking forward to Salah [performing] for the rest of the season.

“He knows how much I like him. He is a very important player, like the others.

“But I would have preferred him to score against West Brom in midweek when we needed it.

“Hopefully he carries on.”
