Klopp not interested in Premier League title hunt

Jurgen Klopp his sole focus is on Liverpool and not other teams following his side’s draw with Chelsea.

The Reds appeared to be on course for all three points after Mohamed Salah had fired them in front midway through the second half.

However, Willian’s late goal ensured that both sides shared the points for the second successive time at Anfield.

The result left Liverpool sitting in fifth place in the table, a point behind Tottenham in fourth but 11 points behind league leaders Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola’s side can increase that gap should they defeat Huddersfield Town on Sunday but Klopp says he is not interested in what other sides are doing.

“In our situation and all the other clubs, if we only think about Manchester City it would be crazy,” he said.

“We have to win games but if they still go on winning all their games we can do what we want.

“I think it’s really important in life that you have your own targets and the right targets and then you will be a happy person. A happy person will be a confident person and a confident person can reach a lot.

“Maybe it’s Manchester City but I’m not interested. Today I didn’t think a second after the game about them.

“What I thought was that we should have won the game and then we’d have three points more. That would have been nice, being closer to Tottenham or whatever, but the season is still okay.

“We have to improve, we can do better, but after a game like this the performance should not be taken for granted.

“The boys did really well, I’m happy about that but not the result.”
