Paris Saint-Germain star tips Coutinho for January exit

Thiago Silva believes Philippe Coutinho could leave Liverpool in January.

Paris Saint-Germain have rejoined Barcelona in the hunt for the playmaker despite the Catalans seeing a £114 million bid rejected last summer.

The Reds remain unwilling to sell Coutinho at any price but Silva is hopeful that his fellow Brazil international may be tempted by a move to Les Parisiens.

Several of the 25-year-old’s compatriots are currently residing at the Parc des Princes including Neymar, Dani Alves, Lucas Moura and Silva himself.

And the PSG captain has revealed that he remains in close contact with Coutinho and urged him to make ‘the best decision’ for his career.

“I talk a lot with Coutinho,” he told Telefoot.

“I hope that at the end of the season or even before, it could be a nice surprise for us.

“I hope he will think well and that next year he will work with us.

“As with Neymar, I give him a lot of advice. But I think the most important thing for him is to make the best decision.”

Since returning from a back injury, Coutinho has enjoyed an impressive spell for Liverpool with five goals from his previous 10 games in all competitions.
