Last chance to get Will Aid appointments in Liverpool

A will-writing campaign that helps people in Liverpool to get their paperwork in order and raises money for charity has been hugely popular, and appointments have been filling up fast.

Will Aid Month starts on 01 November and lasts for just four weeks (until 30 November), linking people with participating solicitors in the Merseyside area who prepare basic wills in exchange for a donation to some of the UK’s best loved charities.

But there is a limit on available appointments, which became available from 01 September, and which have been booked up fast, with local solicitors reporting having only a few remaining.

A recent poll undertaken by Will Aid showed that 54% of people in the UK don’t have this vital piece of paperwork.

Campaign director Peter de Vena Franks said: “Will Aid has been incredibly popular this year. You can still make a November appointment right now and we suggest you do it as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Our website will help you find a participating solicitor in your area.

“Will Aid is a wonderful opportunity to not just make a will, but do it with the help of a professional with the added bonus of helping nine charities in the UK at the same time.

“We are delighted to have so many solicitors involved and willing to give up some of their precious time to help people who have made no provision for their estate.”

Will Aid has been running since 1988 and has run every November since 2008. It is the most successful charity will-writing scheme in the UK, and is open to all adults with no minimal age.

Those who wish to book a will can make their November appointments via our website, www.willaid.org.uk or by calling us on 0300 0309 558.

Last year Will Aid raised more than £1.25 million for its charity partners – ActionAid, Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children, Sightsavers, SCIAF (Scotland) and Trocaire (Northern Ireland).

The scheme takes place across the country from 01-30 November 2017.

The recommended donation for a basic Will Aid will is £95 for a single will and £150 for a pair of mirror wills.
