Liverpool have sent Adam Lallana to Qatar to continue his injury recovery.
Lallana missed the start of the Reds’ season with a thigh problem that has left him ineligible for Jurgen Klopp’s side for the opening two months.
With the England international targeting a November return, Anfield officials took the decision to send him for treatment at Doha’s Aspetar sports clinic.
A member of Liverpool’s medical staff will accompany Lallana on the trip as he prepares to step up his rehabilitation to regular first-team contention.
He has already resumed outdoor training at the club’s Melwood training ground.
Liverpool have previously allowed injured players to travel overseas for treatment, notably Jordan Henderson, Daniel Sturridge and Danny Ings.
Prior to his setback, Lallana proved a pivotal influence in midfield and attack during Klopp’s first two years in the Anfield hot seat.
