Liverpool’s Ice Festival is coming back to the Pier Head this Christmas.
Tickets, including a special price for families, go on sale on September 18 for this year’s event which will feature even more exhilarating thrills and chills.
With a super-sized triple-lane ice slide, larger ice rink, giant ferris wheel and 50 traditional Christmas market stalls, this year’s event is set to be bigger than ever.
After the success of the 2016 festival, an extra lane has been added to the high-speed 30-metre run allowing racers to skim along from six metres above the festival as the Three Graces and the Mersey whizz past.
The huge covered outdoor rink has also been expanded by almost one third allowing even more space to glide, with a canopy to keep you dry and penguin skate aids to help beginners and young ones master their blades.
Visitors will also be able to enjoy shopping at a new traditional Christmas market with 50 stalls, three German-style bars and a pop-up Bavarian food court serving up specialities including its famous German sausage cooked over hot coals.
The festival’s experience continues at the Ice Bar which features a sub-zero room of crystal clear ice sculptures where even the bar, tables and chairs are carved from real ice.
Festivalgoers can head to a Christmas fair packed with rides for all ages and a giant ferris wheel offering stunning aerial views across the city.
Or, if you fancy warming up after a spin on the ice rink and slide, the Après Lounge is the place to go for a mulled wine or creamy hot chocolate, while DJs provide the perfect soundtrack late into Friday and Saturday nights.
Liverpool Christmas Ice Festival launches on November 17 and runs through Christmas and New Year until January 7.
