Peter Moore has urged Liverpool fans to remain calm about the club’s transfer business.
Moore was appointed as the Reds’ new CEO at the beginning of a summer which has seen Jurgen Klopp endure mixed fortunes in the market with his pursuit of various players.
Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson have signed in at Anfield but attempts to sign Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk and RB Leipzig’s Naby Keita have hit stumbling blocks.
Since succeeding Ian Ayre, Moore has regularly interacted with supporters on his Twitter account and used the same platform to remind them that he has no role in player signings.
The ex-EA Sports chief also placed on record his belief in the abilities of both Klopp and Liverpool’s sporting director Michael Edwards.
“Pls (please) allow me to provide a respectful reminder that managing activities such as player transfers is NOT amongst my CEO responsibilities,” he wrote.
“Our sporting director and manager and their teams manage that side of the club and I am extremely confident in their abilities to do so.
“I see great value in the interaction here with our superb supporters around the world and look forward to doing so throughout the season.”
