Liverpool target Naby Keita sparked a training ground bust-up at RB Leipzig.
Keita remains on Jurgen Klopp’s radar despite a £66 million offer being the second rejected by the Bundesliga side this summer.
Without a u-turn from Leipzig, the Reds are preparing to shelve their interest in the Guinea international until a £48m buy-out clause takes effect in 12 months.
But reports in Germany claim that Keita injured team mate Diego Demme during his side’s pre-season session at their Austrian base in Seefield.
The defender received medical attention after what has been described as a ‘brutal’ foul by Keita in a training match on Monday morning.

Leipzig coach Ralph Hasenhuttl called off the remainder of the session in the wake of the 22-year-old’s challenge, which saw Demme’s knee bandaged.
Several team mates remonstrated with Keita before they were forced to return to the team hotel following the incident.
Bild have suggested that Keita’s rash tackle was potentially evidence of his frustration at being denied a move to Anfield.
