Liverpool are set to announce Andreas Kornmayer as the club’s new head of fitness and conditioning.
Kornmayer has spent over a decade with Bayern Munich, where he has worked under Louis van Gaal and Jupp Heynckes since being promoted to first-team duties in 2010, and was credited by Jurgen Klopp for the performance levels of their 2013 treble-winning side..
But with Pep Guardiola’s impending departure to Manchester City set to spark a series of backroom changes at the Allianz Arena, Kornmayer has opted to become the newest addition to Klopp’s staff at Anfield.
The 41-year-old’s appointment will fill the void left by Ryland Morgans, who ended his four-year association with the Reds last week.
