Liverpool based Wired Aerial Theatre, are set to take their acrobatic show on tour across the U.K. and Europe.
The local aerial artists have recently finished touring as support for Britain’s Got Talent winners Diversity, which Wired Aerial Theatre are set to feature on later this year.
Ahead of their appearance on the ITV talent show, the aerial-artists are embarking on a tour across the country and Europe, starting in Ashfield on Sunday July 8.
The stunningly choreographed aerial sequences will be performed three times in Ashfield at 10:30, 12:30 and 15:30.
The company then travel to Austria where they’ll perform at the 2017 production of Carmen at Bregenz Opera Festival, directed by Kasper Holden and staged on Lake Constance.
Lake Constance is famous for its beautiful setting where the open-air stage floats on the river.
Their performance ‘To Me, To You’, was commisioned by the Without Walls consortium, has recently won a major Arts Council National Portfolio Bid.
The bid is rewarded as an acknowledgment to companies for their excellent work in the outdoor arts sector.
‘To Me, To You’ is a show about the everyday struggle that is life and the efforts made to make relationships work. The show originally premiered at the Brighton Festival.
Jamie Ogilvie, Technical Director, Wired Aerial Theatre said: “Saturday marks the start of a very busy July for Wired Aerial Theatre as we perform ‘To Me, To You…’ to crowds at Hat Fair Festival, Winchester, and then we’re onto Active Ashfield before I head to Austria where our team of 16 talented aerial performers and riggers deliver the aerial work in Carmen, produced by the Bregenz Opera Festival. We are really thrilled to be working on such a large-scale opera production, and the set designed by Es Devlin is truly awe-inspiring. Success continues to grow for Wired, especially since the announcement of our own National Portfolio Funding from Arts Council England this week, as well as the support we have received from Without Walls, and our invitations to perform our work all over the world”
Maggie Clarke, Director of XTRAX said: “We’re delighted with the continued success of Wired Aerial Theatre. To Me, To You… is one of the highlights of this year’s Without Walls season, and Wired’s shows continue to tour the world. The company is very much in demand for its aerial artistry and through working with companies such as Diversity, as well as performances at big free festivals across the country and internationally, audiences everywhere get to enjoy the thrill and delight of aerial performance.”
