PSG set to make improved Coutinho offer

Paris Saint-Germain are ready to re-test Liverpool’s resolve on Philippe Coutinho.

The dethroned Ligue 1 champions attempted to prise Coutinho away from Anfield last summer with a £23 million bid which was immediately rebuffed.

But with interest in Kylian Mbappe and Cristiano Ronaldo set to fall short, reports claim that PSG are plotting a new approach for the Brazil international.

PSG have been monitoring Coutinho’s situation since January and according to Le10 Sport, they are set to test the Reds resilience with an audacious £70m bid.

Liverpool are only expected to consider bids in the region of £90m for the 25-year-old and even that does not offer guarantees that he will be sold.

Coutinho pledged his long-term future to the club with a new five-year contract in January which saw him become the highest-paid player in its history.

Last season’s top scorer has also attracted interest from Barcelona but has regularly reiterated his commitment to Liverpool when questioned.
