Liverpool restaurants wanted for Food Porn Awards

The Food Porn Awards are returning for a third year running and is looking for Liverpool restaurants to compete.

The awards are looking to crown the most eye-catching dishes in the north, as they aim to make inroads in the city after successfully expanding into Yorkshire and Cumbria last year.

Nominations are now being accepted until October 18 for the two categories of ‘Fine Dining’ and ‘Casual Dining’.

Food-lovers can enter their pictures by going to FoodPornAwards.co.uk where they will be judged by a panel of professional food-photographers, who’ll select 30 dishes to be long-listed.

For the first time the long-list will be opened to the general public to vote for their favourite dish. The top 12 will then be chosen to be entered into the final.

The final 12 dishes will be reviewed by a panel of esteemed judges from food bloggers, developers and journalists.

The winning dishes for each category will be revealed at the Northern Restaurant and Bar Show in March 2018.

Over the last two years, the awards have received over 600 entries from Manchester hot spots Menagerie and Tattu to Cumbria’s The Gilpin Hotel and Lake House.

Phil Marshall, STM managing director and curator of the Food Porn Awards, said: “The past two years of the awards have been hugely successful and showcased the wide range of talent in the North West, Cumbria and Yorkshire.

“This year we are delighted to open up the competition to the whole of the North and see what the North East can bring to the table.

“After last year’s successful expansion, we had to ensure 2018 was even bigger and better.

“It was also important to give Food Porn Awards’ fans a chance to have their say, so including the new public vote element will enable everyone to have an input and support their favourite dishes.

“We hope to see chefs at their most creative once again, and with more competition than ever before, it is shaping up to be a very exciting year.”
