Liverpool have officially kicked off their 125th anniversary celebrations.
An event was hosted for the local community, including residents and schools, at Anfield to mark the date on which the club was formally founded in 1892.
Peter Moore, The Reds’ new CEO, was on hand at the Main Stand alongside Liverpool icons Robbie Fowler and Gary McAllister, both now club ambassadors.
To mark the historic milestone, children were given the opportunity to ask the ex-players questions about their times at the club as well as the current squad.
A giant birthday card was also unveiled outside the stadium, with over 7,700 people across 32 countries sending their best wishes to the club.
Speaking exclusively to Click Liverpool, McAllister said: “It’s a very special football club.
“The history is there for everybody to look at, the honours list is there too, the facts are there.
“If you get to Liverpool Football Club and become a player here, you’ve got a chance of winning, without a shadow of a doubt.”
