Julian Draxler has broken his silence on turning down Liverpool earlier this year.
The attacker secured a £34 million move to Paris Saint-Germain during the January transfer window despite strong interest from Jurgen Klopp.
Klopp had tracked Draxler since his time in the Bundesliga, first with Schalke and latterly Wolfsburg, but failed in convincing him to move to the Reds.
However the Germany international insists that his switch to the French capital was not motivated by money nor a personal issue with the offer from Anfield.
“It’s not about Jurgen Klopp, about Liverpool or about different clubs from England,” he told BBC World Service.
“It was just my opinion that I am the best player for PSG at the moment – so that’s what I decided.
“I chose a great new step in my career because PSG is a really, really great club.
“They have big goals, they want to reach big things and that’s why I want to be part of it.
“I did not – and will not – decide my club just for the money.”
