Real Madrid have reportedly rejected Liverpool’s bid for Marco Asensio.
Asensio is enjoying a breakthough season with Los Blancos and scored against Bayern Munich as they reached the Champions League semi-final this week.
The creative midfielder has made 30 appearances this term for the reigning European champions, who are also on course to claim their 33rd La Liga title.
But various reports in Spain claim that the Reds staged an audacious €50 million (£42m) offer in their attempts to prise Asensio away from the Bernabeu this summer.
According to Spanish sport newspaper AS, Real have no intention of selling the 21-year-old and are keen to facilitate his presence in Zinedine Zidane’s star-studded squad.
Zidane is understood to be a firm supporter of Asensio, who has scored nine goals in all competitions for the Spanish champions-elect.
