Crystal Palace do not have an option to sign Mamadou Sakho, Jurgen Klopp has confirmed.
The Liverpool defender is spending a half-season loan with the Eagles, who are hopeful of making the deal permanent at the end of the temporary spell.
Sam Allardyce has repeatedly intimated his desire to sign Sakho and did so again following his side’s comprehensive win over Arsenal on Monday night.
But Klopp has denied that Palace currently have first refusal on the France international, who was outcast by the Reds manager last summer.
He said: “There is no clause in the loan contract.
Sakho faces up to the prospect of leaving Anfield for good this summer after Klopp refused to recall him following a series of disciplinary breaches.
Fresh from being cleared of a failed drugs test by UEFA, the 27-year-old was sent home from Liverpool’s pre-season tour of America for breaking club rules.
