Liverpool FC must ignore Jurgen Klopp sideshow in Europa League tie

Jordan Henderson has demanded that his Liverpool team mates focus on facing Borussia Dortmund, rather than Jurgen Klopp’s celebrated return to Germany.

Tonight’s Europa League quarter-final clash sees Klopp return to the club he led to two Bundesliga titles and a Champions League final for the first time since he left last summer, prior to taking the reins at Anfield six months ago.

However Reds captain Henderson has instructed the squad to ignore the furore surrounding Klopp and concentrate on beating Dortmund.

He said: “It might be different for the boss going back to his old club.

“But for us as players we need to go there, concentrate on the game and what we need to do is focus on the game in hand. It is a very big game, against a very good team.

“It will be tough. They have some top players, but with the type of players we’ve got I believe we can go there and get a result,

“If were serious about winning the Europa League it was always likely that we would face Dortmund at some stage.”
