Liverpool’s ambitions of landing Julian Brandt could be derailed by Bayern Munich.
Jurgen Klopp has identified the Bayer Leverkusen playmaker as his number-one transfer target this summer in his efforts to elevate the Reds’ current squad.
But reports in Germany claim that Bayern are trying to derail those plans.
Brandt’s current deal at the BayArena is set to expire in summer 2019 but could be allowed to leave a year earlier in a cut-price deal due to a €12.5 million clause.
According to SportsBild, talks between Brandt and the reigning Bundesliga champions are at an advanced stage which could see Liverpool’s pursuit ended.
Bayern have turned their attention to the German international amid doubts over the future of Thiago Alcantara, who is tipped to rejoin Barcelona this summer.
