Liverpool FC captain Henderson to miss Man City clash

Jordan Henderson will miss Liverpool’s clash with Manchester City next weekend.

Henderson sat out of a third successive Reds game with a foot injury picked up in training as Jurgen Klopp’s side overcame Burnley at Anfield on Sunday.

The Liverpool captain is now set to see his spell on the sidelines extend into a fourth match by being ruled out for the trip to the Etihad Stadium.

As a result, Henderson will be unable to take part in England’s forthcoming games with Lithuania and Germany during the international break.

“Jordan has no chance (for England),” said Klopp.

“The break, hopefully these two weeks we hope will bring him back. But no game is possible at this time.

“He cannot train and he for sure cannot play against Manchester City. It makes sense that he is doing rehab.

“Hopefully he will be able to run in the second week of the international break. Then we have to see.”
