The Libertines join Wirral Live headliners

Indie icons The Libertines will headline the second day of Wirral Live 2017.

The band behind ‘Can’t Stand Me Now’ are set to perform at Tranmere Rovers’ Prenton Park on Saturday, May 2017 as part of the three-day festival.

Merseyside’s own The Coral and Reverend and the Makers have also been confirmed as the support acts as the Libertines play their first concert of the year.

Tranmere vice chairman Nicola Palios said: “We are absolutely delighted with the names we have been able to attract for Wirral Live.

“We have a superb line-up across the three days with some of the best music acts in the UK coming to Prenton Park.

“Tickets for the other two days have been selling very well and we are expecting that the third night we have announced will prove very popular as well.”

Other headliners for this year’s Wirral Live festival have been confirmed as 1980s hit makers Madness and record-breaking girl group Little Mix.
