Liverpool youngster Brooks Lennon has joined former club Real Salt Lake on loan for the 2017 MLS season.
The 19-year-old is a product of the RSL academy and scored 31 goals for the Under 18 team back in the 2014/15 season, a feat that earned him the move to Anfield.
A versatile forward, he has since steadily rose through the Reds youth ranks and has scored two goals in 12 Premier League 2 games this season.
He is yet to appear for the first team, though, and as a result has elected to return to the USA in search of regular playing time, pending international clearance.
He has already linked up with his new team at a training camp in Arizona but is currently in camp with the USA Under 20 side as they prepare for World Cup qualifying later this month.
“I’m really happy to be back for this year. I think it’s going to be a good year with a good group of guys. I’m excited and I think this group can go far,” he said.
“It was a proud moment for me and my family that Liverpool was interested in me. It’s been like a dream come true for me and I’m really proud.
“It’s a big club. I went there and had high expectations for myself. I knew I could do well there. I just went in and tried my best and did everything I can to try and make a name for myself and I think I did.
“I’m really excited. I think I can do really good things and help the team. I’ll do everything I can in practice and in games to try and help the team win. I’m ready to come in and step in and play a big role for the team.”
