Liverpool are reportedly targeting two players as they prepare to offload Daniel Sturridge.
Sturridge has struggled to stake a claim in Jurgen Klopp’s plans this season, with the striker regularly forced to settle for a place on the Reds’ substitutes bench.
The 27-year-old has scored just six times in 20 games this season in all competitions and appeared increasingly out of sorts in his most recent outings.
And the England international’s four-year spell at Anfield is expected to come to an end this summer as the Liverpool manager prepares to fine-tune his squad.
According to the Sunday Mirror, Klopp is keen on a reunion with Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as one of Sturridge’s replacement.
But procuring the Bundesliga hit man is likely to prove challenging with Real Madrid, Manchester City and Chelsea all emerging as potential suitors for him.
Also said to be on Klopp’s hit list is Athletic Bilbao attacker Inaki Williams, with whom Liverpool were said to be tabling a £45 million bid last month.
