Liverpool are set to lose out to Manchester City in their pursuit of Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
The Barcelona goalkeeper is assessing his options ahead of this summer but appears to be moving increasingly towards linking up with the incoming Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium rather than move to Anfield.
Jurgen Klopp had identified ter Stegen, recipe who has seen his opportunities at the Nou Camp increasingly limited, as an immediate successor to under-fire Red stopper Simon Mingolet.
However his compatriot, 23, will instead compete with Joe Hart as City close in on a deal understood to be worth £20 million.
