Liverpool FC fans offered a piece of Anfield history

Liverpool fans are being offered a piece of Anfield history as Jamie Carragher prepares to mark the 20th anniversary of his first goal for the club.

Carragher found the net for the Reds just weeks after making his first-team debut by opening the scoring in a 3-0 win over Aston Villa on January 18, 1997.

The defender would go on to play over 700 times for Liverpool and win a host of honours before officially hanging up his boots at the end of the 2012/13 season.

Ahead of the two-decade anniversary, Carragher has signed a limited number of replica shirts as the one he wore while opening his account in front of The Kop.

Each shirt carries an embroided commemoration of the milestone and can include a personal message written by the ex-England international himself.

All money raised from the shirts will go directly to The 23 Foundation, Carragher’s charity which aims to help children in the Merseyside area.
