Liverpool are reportedly in the hunt for Inter Milan forward Gabriel Barbosa.
Barbosa has made just three appearances as a substitute since joining the Serie A club last summer and is expected to be on the move again in January.
Chelsea and Arsenal were credited with interest in the 20-year-old prior to his original move from Santos but the Reds are set to join the new chasing pack.
Inter manager Stefano Pioli has offered Jurgen Klopp fresh hope that the Brazil international could switch to Anfield by refusing to rule out a swift departure.
“I am happy at the enthusiasm for ‘Gabigol’,” he told Mediaset Premium.
“But I’d like to see him make some moves that are more useful and not just spectacular for the sake of being spectacular.
“Will he remain? We are evaluating the situation.
“Our first objective in January is to whittle down the squad, because we want players who are happy to be at a big club like Inter.
“We are Inter, proud to be a big team and will go forward only with those who share that view.”
